ESSENTIAL OILS "GIFTS OF THE EARTH"

ESSENTIAL OILS are a potent gift from Mother Earth, Essential oils balance, support and nourish the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual self. doTERRA means “Gift of the Earth”.


Using an essential oil is 50-70 times more potent than using the complete plant, 50-70 times stronger than herbs. EG one drop of Peppermint essential oil can have the same impact on the body as 28 cups of peppermint tea. When using pure essential oils, they pack a PUNCH!


Benefits


Essential oils provide a number of benefits to plants, and many of those benefits are passed onto the human body with appropriate application:


· Anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral and anti-parasitic protection

· Restoration and regeneration from physical damage

· Communication via chemical signals


Note that while the term “alternative medicine” is a buzz word frequently used to describe remedies like herbs and essential oils, plant medicine is indeed original medicine.




Essential oils affect the body quickly and powerfully. When used aromatically, aromatic compounds interact with the olfactory system and limbic system to effectively instigate therapeutic chemical changes in the body. When used internally or topically, they interact directly with cells, organs, and the entire body system for health benefits. Our sense of smell can produce powerful, mental, physiologic, and emotional responses.


Uses


1. Aromatic

a. Diffuse 4-8 drops in a diffuser to spread the oil throughout the room

b. From Hands – inhale a drop / two from cupped hands

c. From Bottle – enjoy directly from bottle


2. Topical

a. Neat – apply certain oils directly to the skin with dilution

b. Diluted – with fractionated coconut oil or other carrier oil / lotion as needed

c. Roller bottle – put 10-20 drops in a 10ml roller bottle and fill up with fractionated coconut oil.


3. Internal

a. Veggie caps – put oil in veggie caps and take with water

b. Drink 1-2 drops with water

c. Sublingually – place a drop under the tongue for rapid absorption
